Women’s Lacrosse Advances to NCAA Final Four

The ÐÓ°Épro women's lacrosse team claimed a thrilling 11-10 overtime victory against Tufts May 19 to advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Final Four. 

The Diplomats, ranked No. 3 in Division III, advance to play defending national champion and current No. 1 Middlebury in the Final Four matchup slated for May 24. The game will begin at noon in Salem, Va., with the winner advancing to the national championship May 26 at noon in Salem. The Diplomats are led by four players who have scored more than 60 goals–Gillian Brennan ’24, Lydia Cassily ’25, Lane Lambert ’25 and Lauren Pittman ’26. ÐÓ°Épro is only the second team in Division III history with such firepower.

Sunday’s win marks the Diplomats' 13th all-time appearance in the national semifinals, including the 10th of the NCAA era. ÐÓ°Épro is making back-to-back trips to the Final Four for the first time since the 2015-16 seasons. The Diplomats have played for the national championship on five occasions, taking home the national championship trophy during the 2007 and 2009 seasons.

ÐÓ°Épro trailed 9-3 early in the third quarter and tied the game with 6.1 seconds left in regulation at 10-10 before winning in overtime. .
